Dear Parents:
We invite you to join us as we unite as one body in seeking
God’s covering over our children. We are launching a new campaign “40 days of
fasting and praying” starting May 20 through June 28, the day upon which
certain Gospel Tabernacle kids will be getting baptized. We seek to unite our
prayers over them for clarity, conviction and a true commitment to the Lord. We
seek a revival in their lives and for them to have a true encounter with God.
Our children are precious to us, but even more precious to
Jesus. We know that the Lord has a special plan for each of their lives
(Jeremiah 29:11). But, bear in mind, the enemy also has plans. Therefore, we
encourage all parents to be fully committed to this campaign on behalf of the precious
children that God has entrusted us with. The Bible says that when we pray
according to His will, He will answer. “And we can be confident that He will
listen to us whenever we ask for anything in line with His will. And if we know
He is listening when we make our requests, we can be sure that He will give us
what we ask for.” (1 John 5:14-15).
The Lord Jesus said, “Let the children come to me. Do not
stop them!” (Matthew 19:14). As our children prepare for baptism, it is our
prayer that the younger children will follow in their steps, as they mature and
seek a relationship with the Lord.
Enclosed in this package are various samples of prayers as
well as helpful Scriptures that can be great prayer tools during this campaign.
We suggest keeping these tools in a place where they can be seen daily as a
reminder each to pray for our kids.
Also enclosed are calendars for this campaign which show the
names of the people who have committed to a particular day during this campaign
to fast and pray. This way, we have covered each day with a designated person
praying and fasting for each of the 40 days. We encourage everyone to join in
on this fast on any day you want, the more the better. We ask that you also
pray daily for the person fasting so the Lord gives them strength and clarity.
We thank you for being a part of our family. Remember, there is strength in numbers! The Bible says in Joshua 23:10, “Each one of you will put to flight a thousand of the enemy, for the Lord your God fights for you, just as he has promised.”
